New toy, new daily

Postby Hiroshima Screamer on Thu Oct 29, 2009 9:34 pm

With the seven gone, and modifications on the patrol multiplying, i was in the market for a new toy, and a new daily. Heres what i ended up with.

2003 Yamaha GP1200R
3 cyl, 1200cc 2 stroke. 155hp (standard) This ones had a wee bit of engine work. Full rebuild, porting, modified carby, D plate and a fair bit more.

2004 V6 Camry sportivo.
Had to buy this off of my fathers estate. 37,000 klms (most of them done by me previously) and all the factory garbage. It's a good appliance, although the economy is surprisingly bad.

Working on a camper trailer, will put pics up another day.

I was thinking about that, and will probably buy a second trailer, square hitch, put some blocks bewteen the spring and axle and space the wheels out so it tracks the same as the patrol and sits level. don't want it snaking on little wheels between tracks with only a towball. Camry will be getting a towball soon and will be doing all the brisbane river and maroochy duties. Till then i'm using the work car to drag it about.

Chances are I'll be seeing you every so often for a rebuild, being a 2 stroke and all :P

That's some messy electrical cabling you got going on there under the house dude. Wouldn't happen on my watch... :-P

oh man, thats not even the worst of it. Seriously you should come check it out before i move just to see how bad it is. There's two light fittings in the laundry/sunroom that go through globes every fortnight.

did you get that ski from a bloke at the sunny coast from boost?

if you did id recomend getting it looked over pretty thoroughly by someone.. i know the fella who rebuilt and sold it to him from here in toowoomba and he said it is a good ski but the bloke who bought it off him had a crook couple of carbies a while ago and ran pretty lean on 2 cylinders.. he got them replaced and told the mechanic (the fella up here) to tune it to a inch of its life  as in its still running pretty lean on the edge but making good power

just a heads up for ya ;)

does the camry dori? :P

Ski came from brisbane with a receipt for a full rebuild 2 running hours ago (from a brissie ski shop). I've taken it to a ski mechanic who specialises in 2 strokes who gave it a once over, everything was in order, so is getting further work, THEN getting tuned to an inch of its life.

Camry does doris with the correct ammount of persuesian, through i really just toddle about under 3000rpm. No point thrashing it. Just look like a dick thrashing a camry.
