****we will be holding a "Day Drive" To Surfers Paradise, for anyone & everyone who wants to get out of Toowoomba for the day & take their "rides for a cruise" this is to bring more Toowoomba car enthusiasts together & just to have a bit of relaxing fun/get away *****

***This Event Will Go for the WHOLE DAY! many stops along the way, including suprise meet with annex car clubs so be sure to tag along! ***

MEETING @ "Margarest Street" McDONALDS @ approx 8.30am!
Hoping to be on the road BY 9am at the latest!

***Arrive @ Surfers Paradise @ approx 12.30, will a few meet & greets along the way! ***

***Grab A Bite To Eat, once we get to Surfers! have a look around, have a swim at the beach, meet up with other cars, etc. etc.***

*** around 3 start to head back to Toowoomba, driving through Brisbane, be back around 6.30/7pm ***

OK, ive had a good think about this and I wanna do it. Just let me know who is interested n ill sort out some dates and stuff. Does anyone know someone from T.R.I.C.K car club or any show cars that might be interested???? Cheers

The Trick club committe are aware of this thred and would be interested in participating in the event. From my own personal experience in assisting with car shows, I would recommend arranging a location and a date first before anything else. I am sure once you have done this, people from a lot of the local clubs will make the effort to participate.

When you are picking a date, try to make sure that there are no other car events that could clash. Try looking at the willowbank websites, boost cruising (a lot of toowoomba cars head to events in Brissy and the coasts regularly) and other car clubs websites etc etc.

Keep positive and I am sure that the event will go well !!

If you're looking to do it that soon, you need to sort out the location within the next few days (and clear it with the people who own that property if you're looking at the Harvey Norman carpark or similar), and give a concrete date, time and location to TRICK and other clubs you'd like to have involved.

The people whose cars you'd like to see there DO have families and kids and jobs and other committments, and if you leave it until a week before to confirm details you'll be left sorely disappointed with the number of attendees.

Thanks for the advice CHOW, if i were to organise the meeting place for chalk drive, who would i have to get into contact with? and how do i get into contact with trick?

For council owned properties such as Chalk Drive, the TRC would be the ones to call. GOod luck with getting them to do anything that doesn't involve them getting a pay rise though.

Ive decided on a date and time - either Saturday 16th of Jan or Sunday 17th of Jan. im tossing up between the times, Im thinkin starting at 12, show n shine till 2 or 3ish than go for a cruise to Picnic Point and around Toowoomba. Thankyou for the interest shown so far and i hope this goes to plan. If anyone has any other ideas that could help this run a bit smoother, could you please let me know as this is the first time ive organised a event.

How is anyone supposed to know about this if all you've done is change the title and first post?

Also, it helps if you provide a date. No where in the thread so far has one been decided. If you were still going with this weekend, it helps to give some notice - especially if you're planning on changing the venue from downtown Toowoomba to Surfers Paradise.

Meet at McDonalds @ 8am and everyone have brekky there. I'm sure the owners would have no objections to you all parking there if you are all paying customers...
